Loving the podcast so far! Really hitting the strings on why I dropped out of architecture school and why the whole scholastic part of college was so frustrating to me as a kinesthetic learner. I have a question. I am a project manager for a new Urbanist builder and becoming a builder is an option for me in the future. Is there a place for GC/builders in the college that you are dreaming up? Keep up the good work!
Hi Nolan, thanks for reaching out. For sure there's a role for someone like you as a project manager or development manager. I think theirs definitely an angle that's craft/trade oriented as well. And I think especially design/build would be a very valuable foundational skill set
I like that you mentioned design/build as a valuable skill. It really is the skill that help build the bridge between desk trades and field trades. It's personally a passion to help tradesman I work with have a design/build worldview, to help them see beyond the job at hand and see the greater purpose in the part they are playing (like the old parable of the the masons building a steeple). For a few, it has helped them see an even greater value of their work.

Love this concept; a school for everything about urban planning. It's kind of like this dream I've had for houses; architecture, construction, realty, interior design, developing and more. I hope to hear more about this urban planning, particularly if there's a strong link to houses. I'll be following.
